AIS Students Chapter Competition
KNSI E-XPERT (www.e-xpert.pl) is the part of Association for Information Systems from 2015, and since then we accomplished to get into the podium of AIS SC Competitions two times!
The first success was third place in “IS that Serves Society” Category in April 2015 at the University of Alabama. SafeWatch team prepared the mobile solution, which allows person to call for help while a danger situation occurs, by using gesture. Project team is still working on that solution and also started patent process. In the first quarter of 2017 the team is going to put SafeWatch on the market.
In case of a threat, using a predefined gestures user initiates the process of emergency call where an application passes a voice message and informs the police and a chosen person about the whole incident. All the information is transmitted to the server where they are retrieved by the website and made available to the police. The request includes every necessary information about the victim and about the current location, so the response time is reduced to a minimum.

Microsoft Imagine Cup
Two projects created by Business Informatics students were awarded in Design Challenge: VeniVidi and GPeSsense.
VeniVidi is a virtual guide application leading the user through the most interesting places and monuments of the cities he visits and at the same time enabling him to compete against his friends using gamification. Every time the user checks-in a place available on the map, he receives points which afterwards can be easily exchanged for real prizes like a discount on dinner or a free coffee. VeniVidi encourages the user to explore the cities he visits and learn about their history, making sightseeing an exciting and entertaining adventure. It was created by Duo students team from KNI Lider (www.knilider.org).
GPeSsense is a AR/GPS Game with designed by our team TriggerZone feature which immediately evoke an in-game event when the player enters pre-specified area.
AIS Students Chapter Competition
The second success, was the third place for CyberWatch in IBM Bright ICT category at the last Student Chapter Conference at Indiana University, 1-3 April 2016.
Furthermore, members of our chapter won awards for “The most effective usage of IBM Bluemix cloud” and “The most innovative usage of IBM Bluemix cloud”. Gdansk AIS SC Teams prepared two solutions CyberWatch and Unity. CyberWatch is multiplatform system which allows user to block every act of cyberbullying, and Unity is the platform to checking opinions about people and companies at the Internet.
CyberWatch has a mission to prevent from cyber violence in a simple and available for everyone way.
It may become a reliable key to surf the web much more safely. Following the path of the world known extension called AdBlock, which allows the user to block almost all commercials in browser, we decided that the idea of hiding an unwanted content is the best way to go. With that in mind, we have created CyberWatch extension. It applies highly precise algorithms and patterns to reduce violence in internet in a simple and user friendly way. It does so by blocking words, phrases and pictures which are considered to be breaking the law.
